Tyler Young Gears Up For the 2010 Race Season

Tyler Young, a Midland, Texas native has committed to a full season in the USAR Pro Cup Series as well as a limited Series in the NASCAR K&N Pro East Series for 2010.   The Pro Cup season is scheduled to start on Saturday March 27th at the Gresham Motorsports Park (GA).

Prior to that, the teenaged driver and his crew will head to Bristol Motor Speedway on March 20th to take part in the upcoming NASCAR Legends Race.  The event will turn back the pages to the glory days of NASCAR with the Scotts EZ Seed Showdown.                                                                       

Some of NASCAR's greatest drivers like Cale Yarborough, Dave Marcis, Harry Gant and others will square off in a 35-lap race. It will be a chance to pay homage to some of racing's greatest stars and to see them rekindle their competitive fires as they clash once again for bragging rights at Bristol. 

Jack Ingram will be behind the wheel of Young's car,  the Randco Inc./Young's Building Systems/CAF Chevrolet.  Ingram is a former NASCAR Busch Series champion. Nicknamed the "Iron Man", Ingram won 31 races and five  poles over eight seasons of the Busch Series, as well as the 1982 and 1985 championships. He drove the #11 Skoal Bandit entry . The race will be take place directly after the NASCAR Nationwide race and will be televised on ESPN2.
     
Tyler's 2009 season was limited as he concentrated on his father's health.  Mr. Young received a liver transplant in October and is now recovering well, Tyler is looking forward to driving the #02 Randco Industries Chevrolet full time.

“I would like to thank the entire USAR Pro Cup and NASCAR K&N Pro East Series community as well as the entire racing community, they have been very supportive during this time, and with my Dad recovering well we are very excited for the up coming season.”

Greg Ely, crew Chief, Tyler and his entire team has worked very hard during the off season. The team has had several test sessions, including one at Bristol. They have some new sponsors, coming on board with more details coming soon, along with racing for two charities this year - The American Liver Foundation, www.liverfoundation.org and Gram of Hope: www.gramofhope.org, Partial Proceeds from each race will go to these charities.

Tyler stated that it is great to be apart of two great charities. Everyone in the Young's Motorsport organization is enthusiastic for the green flag to drop on the 2010 season.


Greg Ely Joins Young's Motorsports in Crew Chief Position

Young’s Motorsports is pleased to announce the addition of Greg Ely to the position of crew chief for the 2010 season. Young’s Motorsports, with driver Tyler Young, plan to contest the full USAR Pro Cup schedule and potentially selected NASCAR Pro Series East events. Greg brings over 30 years of racing experience to the program, including stints as a crew chief in all 3 top NASCAR Divisions. “I’m looking forward to again working with a young driver eager to learn the nuances necessary to compete at the top levels of the sport” Greg stated. “I had the opportunity to work with Tyler last year at the Iowa race and I was impressed with his skill level and desire. We have spared no effort in completely rebuilding the cars over the winter, from top to bottom, giving Tyler every opportunity to showcase his abilities.”

The USAR season kicks off March 27th at Gresham Motorsports Park in Jefferson, Ga. The team plans an extensive testing schedule before that in preparation for the season.

Tyler Young Gearing Up for 2010 Season

With the 2009 in the rear view mirror, Tyler Young and Young's Motorsports is looking towards the 2010 season.  Young will race in the full 2010 USARacing Pro Cup Series as well as a few NASCAR K&N Pro Series East events.
